Final goodbye to an invasive spirit!

Goodbye

I did not want to say goodbye
all those months ago!
but, I could take no more,
and you went gently
with the rushing of the river
and the gusting wind, far
beyond the worlds edge
where sun slants red, at sunset.
you did not comfort, ever, nor
share joy, or love,
you took it all, demolished me.
though strangely I felt your heartbeat
in the night- symphony of stars.
your heavy arms filled mine,
my back bent to your stoop
and my body, heavy with everlasting
dread, laced with aimless dreams
seemed completely, yours.

but now, my eyes see my visions,
not yours, and my hands write
my words, not yours.
your heartbeat has no echo here
when I look into the night,
